A two-handset phone system from Uniden, the DXAI4288-2 comes with some useful features, including caller ID/call waiting compatibility and a built-in answering machine. The first handset recharges in the base, while the second comes with its own charging cradle that requires only an AC outlet, so you don't have to worry about additional phone jacks.

The DXAI4299 has a 30-number caller ID (each handset), and the display-and-dial feature allows you to easily scroll through the caller ID list and dial the displayed number with the touch of a button. Ten memory-dial presets are also provided, allowing you to quickly dial the most frequently used outgoing numbers.

You can transfer incoming calls between handsets, while headset compatibility provides a convenient, hands-free communication method. You can adjust handset and ringer volume levels, as well as set the handset LCD menu to one of three menu languages (English, French, or Spanish). The base unit is wall-mountable, offering increased placement options, and a page button lets you easily locate a misplaced handset.

The all-digital answering machine has a 13-minute maximum record, while the maximum message length can be set to either 1 or 4 minutes. With memo and conversation recording, the DXAI4288-2 provides a quick and easy way to save important information such as directions and telephone numbers, and full remote operation allows you to check your messages even when you are away from home. Uniden also provides a one-year limited warranty on both parts and labor.

Purchased this item after long and satisfactory experience with Uniden products.Good functions and easy to use, but very noisy and poor reception.Not recommended.

This has the WORSE reception of any phone I've ever had and that includes a $5 stationary dial phone!It's cheap plastic and for the price, not worth it!I already have a Uniden that has lasted and done well for quite awhile, but this one is junk.The "second" phone is pointless.Transferring a call from one to the other is a waste of time.I took it back after 3 days and bought an ATT!

I was skeptical at first because of the cheapy plastic feel to this phone but have had it for a little over a month now and LOVE this phone! I have had NO problems with anything. I get pretty decent range (walking around outside and down the driveway) without ANY reception problems (although I've heard it's not good if you have a WIRELESS INTERNET connection, but I don't, so no problems for me!!), the volume level is perfect (and adjustable from low, med, high), the answering machine works great ...
