I wanted a corded phone to ensure access in case of a power outage, I wanted an answering machine so that I could get rid of the overpriced Voicemail package from the phone company, I wanted buttons I could see without my reading glasses AND I wanted a cordless phone. - Just What Mom Wanted!
I helped my nearly 90-year old mom choose a phone to replace a similar one that had stopped working, and which had been discontinued.We checked all the alternatives, and found this to be the best. It arrived on time, and she managed to set it up without too much additional help. It works fine and she's very pleased to have both the cordless phone and corded base.

Phone does everything it should- talking CID, Speaker phone, answering machine etc. Both the corded and cordless sets have good increase in hearing volumes and ringers. Draw back on cordless handset is the backlight on the cid window is not bright like the corded set window and is hard to see unless room is brightly lit. Otherwise it is agreat phone.

I purchased this phone for my mother who is 91 and still quite active.Obviously ones hearing, sight becomes impaired when you grow older and the same applies to other senses.I set this up for her with the extension phone and she is quite content.The set up was VERY SIMPLE. The volume control on both the main unit and extension works well for her, larger numbers, backlight, blinking ringer light, loud ringer, etc.The controls don't have the complexity that many phones have. This phone was perfect!Exactly the features I was looking to get.I puchased it for my 77-year old mother and it had to be uncomplicated.She had a Uniden cordless phone before and was comfortable using the speed dial on the cordless handset.The caller ID announcement is hard to understand, but she loves all the visual indicators.I would purchase Uniden again.
