Fracture advances players to the year 2161, where the effects of global warming have altered the planet's landscape, and a clash in ideologies over human enhancement places society on the threshold of war. In utilizing the core gameplay mechanic of Fracture, a destructive next-generation technology known as Terrain Deformation, players are equipped with an arsenal of futuristic weaponry to strategically reshape their surroundings on the fly.Every action they perform dynamically reshapes the earth in ways no videogame has ever seen.

Players set foot on the frontlines of this epic conflict in the role of Jet Brody, a demolitions expert fighting for the Atlantic Alliance, who rely upon cybernetic enhancement. Pitted against the genetically enhanced soldiers of the Pacifican army, players will experience a revolution in 22nd-century warfare. When Brody throws a tectonic grenade onto a level battlefield, the ground blasts upward providing access to otherwise unreachable areas or providing cover against approaching enemies. Surrounded on all sides by Pacifican forces, Brody heaves a vortex grenade, creating a swirling tornado-like mass of boulder, dirt and debris to dispatch his foes. These are just a few samples of the possibilities for Terrain Deformation. Players not only change the battlefield - they change the face of the battle itself.

If you're a big fan of FPS, this game will not disappoint... and it will not impress. I suppose the impression and experience a game delivers is at least somewhat time-sensitive; it may have been a little bit more impressive / fun when it came out nearly two years ago. I just played it, in summer of 2010. It is definitely technically proficient. The artwork is complete and detailed. But in terms of the storyline, it fails to engage. The game provided a way for me to kill time.

I was hoping it would have been more like the portal gun.Where you needed to use the gun to figure out how to make it through to the next level, type of thing.But it was more of a brainless, blast at the ground to figure out how to design your own cover.Bla...neat and novel Idea at first.Then after creating my molten blast shield of dirt.Shoot out wave after wave of enemies that was never ending.("monster closet" spawning)

The campaign is entertaining but since its and older game and theres other games like halo out there, theres never anyone playing its multiplayer games so have fun playing by yourself on this one.

I have completed this game a few times and have found the campaign challenging. I have difficulty during some of the levels but with a little twicking of my tactics I was able to get through them okay. Knowing how to make good use of terrain deformation is essential to success. My favorite part of the game is playing online. Being able to use terrain deformation and some of the amazing weapons against live opponents is great fun! The game starts by showing how the future is going to be a bad place. Since it's around the 22nd century, the west coast began changing people DNA while the east coast try to use cybernetic instead. You can regenerate your health by taking cover and you can use your guns to change the terrains. you play as Jet Brody and it's up to you to stop the general from taking over the world, as your progressive you'll be shooting wave after wave of enemies while keeping the camera under control.
